NERO CLAUDIUS DRUSUS
Father of Claudius

Never Reigned

NERO CLAVDIVS DRVSVS was born to Tiberius Claudius Nero and Livia Drusilla in 38 BC, although she had married Augustus three months before his birth. He married Antonia and was the father of Claudius, Germanicus, and Livilla . He began military service in the Alps with his brother Tiberius in 15 BC and 14 BC. He then went to Gaul and prepared campaigns against the Germans, conducting four successful ones from 12 BC to 9 BC. In 9 BC he served as consul, and was the first Roman to reach the Elbe River. He died from a fall from a horse in 9 BC, and the Empire was incapable of holding his conquests.(From MONETA, from www.numus.com)
